Generally speaking, no. Deposits are taken to protect your artist’s time, so if you cancel or do not show up for your appointment, your deposit will not be refunded. Some artists have a specific cancellation policy that may allow you to reschedule your appointment if you can no longer make the original date.

Yes, all of our artists offer advice and consultation before you get tattooed. Some artists will give you time at the beginning of your tattoo appointment to define the design and others will do so before scheduling, either by email, phone or in person depending on your preference.

Yes, but it’s probably not as bad as you think! Some areas are more painful than others, but our artists will do their best to make you as comfortable as possible and if you need it, they will give you breaks during your tattoo.

Make sure you have eaten a full meal at least 1 hour before your appointment. It is important that you stay hydrated, you can bring a drink to the session without any problem.

No, usually, the artist will shave the area to be tattooed with a disposable razor blade before applying the tattoo stencil. Sometimes, if the area is large (for example, a full sleeve), the artist will ask you to shave before the session.

On the day of your session, we recommend that you wear clothing that is easy to move/take off so that the artist can easily access the tattoo area. For the arms, a short sleeve t-shirt or vest is perfect. For shoulders/neck, a strapless blouse works well. For the legs, you can wear shorts or loose pants/skirt. For the chest/torso/sternum, you can wear a loose-fitting shirt with buttons that can be unbuttoned/moved to allow access to the tattoo area. For a back piece, you can wear a shirt unbuttoned from back to front.

If you start to feel unwell during your session, you should inform the artist immediately. We will do everything we can to make sure you feel well again. If you feel you can’t continue tattooing that day, don’t worry: you will be able to book another session to continue once you feel better.

You should consult with the tattoo artist prior to the session. Some areas are not suitable for numbing and some anesthetic creams are more effective than others.

Yes, as long as the artist is sure that he/she will be able to make a design with the necessary and expected cover-up. In this case, we suggest that you contact us to help you with the process.

Yes, in most cases you can tattoo on scars as long as they are completely healed and at least 2 and a half years old.

No. If you show up for your appointment under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or take drugs/drink alcohol during your appointment, we will ask you to leave the studio. If this happens, you will forfeit your deposit and will not be welcome back.

All our artists will be happy to retouch their own work free of charge, provided you have followed their aftercare instructions and have taken good care of your tattoo. Some artists may be willing to retouch other artists’ work; if this is your case, write to us and we will be happy to advise you.

No. It is illegal and dangerous to perform tattoos on pregnant or breastfeeding women. If you find out you are pregnant and have an appointment booked, contact us and we will help you.

CAN I BRING SOMEONE WITH ME TO MY APPOINTMENT?

During the session you will only be able to access the room individually. Your companion can wait in our waiting room or in the cafes located a few meters away from Tatuarte.
